Monday & Tuesday "Check In"

Yesterday was our monthly visit to my parents to hang out with the "fish guy." Even still, we managed to get everything done except History. Originally I had thought we would make monday our "day off" for the week, but it turned out better to just keep going. So, we worked hard yesterday instead. :-)

I'm finding it frustrating (as I thought I might) that our library is so slow in inter-library loans. They take a few weeks usually, which was fine for ECC, but since we are changing the subject each week, it's just not working out. So, I'm thinking probably on Friday we'll use our "day off" to go to the library and read this weeks books, then check some out for the next few weeks.

Yesterday Superkid began his art. He is REALLY enjoying it! In fact, it didn't take much to talk him into getting caught up from last week. We don't have the good art supplies yet so in the meantime, he's just using what we've got. I think it will be fun for him to get pens and pencils that "real" artists use, so we'll do that as soon as we can.

Today went by fast, which is always good. Spelling has upped the words to 20. It will go to 25 here soon, but stops there thankfully. Spelling seems to take the longest out of all of our "every day subjects." Math was super quick today, handwriting (we're working on cursive) and english (we're focusing on memorizing a poem) usually don't take long.

I told Superkid we should challenge ourselves to see how quick we can actually accomplish school. Poor kid has had plenty of times he's spent the entire day in school. That's just wrong! So, I'm more than happy to let him get on with his day after he works diligently in school.

We're skipping science today so that he can do some catch-up. He was not happy with his coloring job for his timelines last week so he's working to redo those. Plus, for some reason I didn't realize he was supposed to do a "narration" for Leif Ericsson, so he's working on that this afternoon. We'll do both sciences on Thursday together.

Check back later, I should have some pictures up here after awhile.

Glad you had a quick day. It's so nice when everything falls together like that. Looking forward to seeing your pics.
